I’m going to be honest and write this ABOUT in the first person, as most Abouts and Bios are, in reality, written by the subject. Here goes and my humble apologies if this does not reflect humility.
I grew up in Pewaukee, Wisconsin - where I finagled my way to work at a small traveling Circus that came to town at the age of fifteen. Sometimes I regret not being able to run off with it. That should tell you volumes about me.
My education and influence has included the prestigious Iowa Writer’s Workshop at the University of Iowa and I’m a veteran of self-publishing with my short story collection, Pool of Souls and Other Stories. My short stories have placed in the New Letters Literary Awards and other competitions.
I studied photography and poetry at the Kansas City Art Institute. As an award-winning photographer, I owned my own advertising photography studio for over ten years, specializing in food and product photography and a six-year stint shooting for Hallmark Cards in their studios.
An award-winning graphic artist, and designer, I’m also a performing musician, multimedia director, innovator, inventor (patents applied for), actor, director, and consultant. I’ve also been known to fix a kitchen sink or two. Whether I’m any good at all these things, you’ll have to ask someone not so close to me.
In 2007, I came out of 25 years in the land of self-owned businesses to work with 20-somethings as a team member in an Apple retail store. I managed to become one of the first recipients of Apple's newly created Living the Credo awards and ended up as a Creative - or Trainer of All Things Apple for customers, team members, and businesses for almost 10 years.
Currently, I’m living and writing in Bangkok Thailand with my wife, Pannipa. I also specialize in producing images with the Apple iPhone and play keyboards at ECB, a wonderful international church in Bangkok.
